The Rangers lose their first game since it was announced that they were acquiring Cole Hamels. Ironically, it was the first game Cole Hamels has played

The Rangers were up 7-4 with two outs in the 8th inning and Cole Hamels on the mound when Joe Panik doubled. At 94 pitches, Hamels was pulled from his debut in favor of Tanner Scheppers. Three batters later, after a double, double, single, the Giants tied the game.

The Rangers couldn't score off an actual good bullpen and the Giants won in the 11th. So, the worst bullpen in baseball keeps the Rangers from winning their fourth straight game at home for just the second time this season.

Player of the Game: Cole Hamels had a serviceable outing going 7 2/3 innings, allowing five runs (one of which scored when Tanner Scheppers happened), and striking out six, before giving way to Tanner Scheppers who promptly did Tanner Scheppers things and allowed the Giants to tie it in the span of a few pitches.
