56-57 - Moreland forces Rangers to salvage road trip with finale win

A career high four hits in one game from Mitch Moreland helped the Rangers win the finale in Minnesota

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers came back and won a game where they were down 4-0 with a struggling rookie pitcher on the mound and an offense that had been floundering for the last several games. I'll take it.

Now Texas heads back to Arlington for a homestand after completing a road trip where they went 2-4 against two teams that had been 16-26 since the All-Star break before facing the Rangers.

Player of the Game: Mitch Moreland found his power stroke and hit a two-run home run to get the Rangers on the board while ending a stretch where the Rangers had scored just three runs since the 3rd inning last Sunday. For the day, Moreland went 4-4 with the homer, a double, and two singles while driving in four of the Rangers' six runs.
