Jim Callis has his latest ranking of the top 10 farm systems in baseball, and the Rangers make the list, checking in at #9.
Interestingly, Callis says the Rangers would have ranked second on the list prior to the Cole Hamels trade, and the Phillies actually end up higher on the current list (7th) than the Rangers do. Callis notes that the Rangers have five players -- Joey Gallo, Nomar Mazara, Dillon Tate, Lewis Brinson and Luis Ortiz -- on the MLB Pipeline top 100 list, with Chi Chi Gonzalez not quite making the cut.
Not surprisingly, the only other A.L. West team to make the list is the Houston Astros, who are one slot above the Rangers at #8.
