59-57 - The Rangers Strike Back, sweep Rays for 4th straight win

The Rangers sweep the Rays for their fourth straight win and seventh straight win at home

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

The Return of the Rangers to playoff contention concluded Star Wars weekend as the Rangers were able to sweep the Tampa Bay Rays as they continue their climb up the American League standings.

Today is Delino DeShields' birthday and he went 1-2 with two walks and a stolen base while playing good defense. DeShields is 23 years old today and the Rangers don't have to worry about finding a centerfielder for a while.

Adrian Beltre hit a home run for the second consecutive game and looks like he's finding his power stroke. Mike Napoli had two hits and it's still pleasantly strange to see him and Hamilton back in Ranger uniforms.

The bullpen allowed just one hit in 3 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball while striking out four. In this series against the Rays, the 'pen went nine innings and allowed just three runs.

Player of the Game: DeShields had himself a solid birthday but I have to give it to Ryan Strausborger who went 3-4 with the first dinger of his career all from the No. 9 spot in the lineup.
