The Texas Rangers have promoted 20 year old outfielder Nomar Mazara from AA Frisco to AAA Round Rock.
Mazara, who was one of the youngest players in AA, has put up a .284/.357/.443 line in 470 plate appearances for Frisco. Mazara started the 2014 season at low-A Hickory, and was promoted to Frisco in early August, so he's spent a little over one full season at Frisco.
Mazara is a lefthanded right fielder who profiles as a middle-of-the-order power hitter in the majors, though he may possibly end up at first base long term. Mazara will likely start the 2016 season in AAA, and has a chance to end up in the majors next year should he continue to progress.
Tepid did a Q&A with Mazara earlier this month that you can read here.
