Tigers 4, Rangers 0
- See that picture up there? The one with Jeff Banister and the umpire? I'm fascinated by this picture. Banister looks especially like a T-1000, and is doing like this double pistol thing with his hands, but while being all super serious like. And the umpire is doing a weird thing with his hands, and you can't tell who they are looking at.
- That picture is more interesting than talking about the game, I think.
- I've fallen down a YouTube hole, incidentally, of Norm MacDonald on Letterman clips. Norm MacDonald is an underappreciated comedian.
- Norm MacDonald clips are also more interesting than talking about the game, I think.
- Martin Perez did a pretty decent job of limiting the damage against him tonight, I guess, given how off his command was. Just 3 runs in 5 IP I guess was sort of a moral victory.
- And hey, the Rangers didn't get no hit.
- I initially typed that the Rangers didn't get shut out, but that's incorrect. I was distracted by listening to a clip of Norm MacDonald talking about Oscar Pistorius.
- At least no one got hurt.
- If you want to take a positive from tonight, go check out the Frisco box score. Connor Sadzeck, working his way back from Tommy John surgery, threw 6 innings against the Tulsa Drillers, didn't give up a hit, and walked just two. Sadzeck was in the same general group as Alec Asher and Jerad Eickhoff prior to being diagnosed with a torn UCL prior to the 2014 season. He's spent much of this season rehabbing and pitching in limited stints, but he's starting to look like the guy who was a top 20 prospect in the organization pre-injury. Someone to keep an eye on next year.
- Man, games in Detroit always seem to be kind of crappy.
