Mike Napoli, who was acquired by the Texas Rangers from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations, has been activated and is in today's lineup.  To make room for Napoli on the roster, the Rangers have optioned Ryan Rua to AAA.

The move gives Rua a chance to get regular at bats over the next three-plus weeks, before presumably being recalled when rosters expand on September 1,  Rua has put up just a .200/.229/.413 line this season, and has struggled to get regular playing time since returning from a broken ankle that sidelined him much of the first part of the season.

Ryan Strausborger, meanwhile, stays on the roster as the backup center fielder, and gets a start today against Seattle lefty Mike Montgomery.

The lineup:

DeShields -- CF

Strausborger -- LF

Prince -- DH

Beltre -- 3B

Napoli -- 1B

Hamilton -- RF

Elvis -- SS

Odor -- 2B

Gimenez -- C

Martin Perez takes the mound for the Rangers.
