Sunday morning Rangers news and links

Jennifer Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

Texas beat the M's, 11-3, in extra innings last night.

T.R. Sullivan has a game report from last night's win.

Jeff Wilson's game story talks about the decision in the 10th to walk Nelson Cruz and Robinson Cano to load the bases with two outs and face Jesus Montero.

Sullivan also has a story on Tolleson's work last night, that includes quotes from Jeff Banister on why Tolleson was sent back out there with an 8 run lead:

"He was already in the game," Banister said. "We talked to him and said he was good. If we run Bass out there and it goes sidewise, we have to run a rookie out there in a save situation. We opted with Shawn. He said he was okay. He was our guy."

Banister doesn't explain why Sam Freeman or Spencer Patton aren't also options, or why he's so terrified at the notion of Bass blowing an 8 run lead.

Evan Grant goes into the critical 10th inning, where Banister walked Cruz and Cano to face Montero.

Ryan Rua was sent down yesterday to make room for Mike Napoli on the 25 man roster.

Stefan Stevenson's Minor League Insider talks about Keone Kela and Derek Holland.

Evan writes that Bobby Wilson and Chris Gimenez, the Rangers' replacement catchers, have been a pleasant surprise.

The S-T's notes talk about Mike Napoli, Ryan Rua and Colby Lewis.
