74-66 - Reports of Colby Lewis' demise were greatly exaggerated

Folks seemed to figure that Colby Lewis was running out of gas here down the home stretch as he'd put together a trio of subpar outings during his stellar season. Remarkably, Colby is coming up on his career high innings pitched and for a grizzled vet with a robot hip, I suppose it wouldn't have shocked anyone if he was cooked.

Well, instead, Colby pitched a complete game shutout against the A's tonight and was perfect through 7 innings until a double by Danny Valencia to begin the 8th inning. That was one hell of a performance by the old man and one hell of a night to pick up his career high 15th win.
