74-67 - Gallardo's luck runs out as offense sputters again against lefty

Yovani "Full Count" Gallardo couldn't give the Rangers five innings

Yovani Gallardo once again had trouble finishing off hitters which ran up his pitch count prematurely and allowed the A's to get to him in the fifth inning for five runs. Gallardo had avoided that big inning in the recent starts but his luck finally ran out tonight.

At the plate, the other worst case scenario played out as the Rangers were quiet against a soft-tossing left-hander after Mike Napoli hit a solo dinger in the second inning. Texas mounted a rally in the 9th to make it 5-3 but Napoli struck out to end the game.

At least the Twins lost?

Player of the Game: It's worth noting that Elvis Andrus broke out of a slump with a trio of doubles. That's right, the offense wasted a three XBH night from Elvis.
