The Texas Rangers are a season-high 11 games above .500. The Texas Rangers have a season-high 1.5 game lead in the American League West. The Rangers dropped nine runs on presumed Cy Young winner Dallas Keuchel, the most of his career. Keuchel wasn't even able to get out of the 5th inning. That was the first time Keuchel hadn't pitched at least six innings in 40 starts. Probably a bad time to have the worst start of your career if you're wearing orange tonight.
The Rangers hit a season-high five dongs tonight. The Rangers are now guaranteed to finish this series, which concludes tomorrow, atop the AL West.
Player of the Game: With the presumed left-handed AL Cy Young winner on the mound, the Rangers' left-handed hitters went 8-17 with three dingers, eight runs driven in, and eight runs scored. Oh, and the left fielder, Mike Napoli, he showed why JD acquired him by hitting a three-run jack off of Keuchel in the first inning. Napoli, left fielder, also had an outfield assist.
And yet, Napoli, left fielder, didn't have quite the night that Prince Fielder had. Fielder hit two bombs to the upper deck home run porch. One of those came off Keuchel. For the night, Fielder went 3-5 with 5 RBI. Through the first three games of this series against the Astros, Fielder is 8-13 with three dingers, eight runs scored, and eight RBI. All because AJM doubted him on Twitter.
