The 2015 Houston Astros are the 2009 Texas Rangers. It's not over for them in 2015, but they're the young, fun team with a lot of talent that tasted first place for the first time in a long time over the summer but are having a rough September.
These Rangers, I don't know who they are yet. All I know is they're fun. There's never been a Rangers team like this one. They're statistically lucky. They've been alternating between really bad and really good four times now this season alone.
Whoever this team is, they now have a 2.5 game lead in the American League West after sweep the Astros this week in a four-game series. The Rangers outscored the Astros 33-13 over the four games and generally just manhandled them. Maybe this team is just special.
Player of the Game: Second half Shin-Soo Choo is making it really hard to be mad about that contract. Tonight, Choo went 4-5, drove in two runs and scored twice while showing the Astros the value of on base percentage and bringing about chants of "SWEEP! SWEEP! SWEEP!" from the The Ballpark faithful.
