Good morning. Rough day for DFW sports fans yesterday. First the Rangers finished off an embarrassing 2015 run against the Mariners with a blowout loss which helped Houston get back in the AL West race. Then the Round Rock Express failed to win the Pacific Coast League title in the winner-takes-all Game 5 against Fresno. Finally, Tony Romo's clavicle exploded and a win over the hated Eagles never felt worse.
Maybe Yu Darvish will announce that he's miraculously healed and ready to pitch and the Cowboys will sign Tim Tebow for the laughs to make it all better.
Katy Clarke recaps the latest and, thankfully, last loss by the Rangers against the Mariners in 2015.
Stefan Stevenson writes more on the Rangers' 9-2 loss. Bet you can't wait to read it!
Anthony Andro's game story focuses on Derek Holland having a terrible outing against Seattle. He also notes that the Rangers went 7-3 on the homestand and leapfrogged Houston for first place so it's not all doom and gloom.
Evan Grant writes that the "good news" about Holland's start yesterday is that he was just bad, not hurt.
Dave Sessions writes that Holland was frustrated with his performance as he wants to be a pitcher the Rangers can count on to seal the deal down the stretch.
Grant has more on Triple-A Round Rock falling just short of taking the PCL championship.
Stevenson has notes on Delino DeShields' aching knee, Leonys Martin's return, and Shin-Soo Choo's crazy hot streak, among other items.
Lastly, Will Leitch takes on the task of deciding the most "indispensable" player on each contending team. He lands on Rougned Odor for the Rangers. Thoughts?
Have a nice day.
