81-69 - Rangers silence nagging Coliseum memories, rally against A's

The Rangers won their 81st game tonight and therefore will not be losers in 2015

The Rangers have been doing a lot of positive things in the second half of the season but having come-from-behind wins after they go down in the middle innings hasn't really been one of them. They've been winning lately by jumping on teams early and riding it out. Tonight, they trailed 4-1 and 5-3 but came back to win 8-5 in a building that has some late-season ghosts that need exorcising.

Real good win. Houston lost. The Rangers have a two game lead in the AL West. The magic number is at 10.

Player of the Game: Mike Napoli had a real bad laugher in the field in left that gave the A's an insurance run in the 5th inning and that looked really bad for the Mike Napoli left fielder experiment until, a half inning later, Mitch Moreland, the guy in the lineup because Napoli is starting games in left field, hit a huge game-tying two-run home run off a lefty. It was Mitch's 23rd dinger of the year which tied his career high.
