Ian Kennedy went all Alfredo Simon/Mike Pelfrey on the Rangers (with a career high 12 Ks) through seven innings and it looked like Texas would squander a chance to move to within two games of Houston tonight as they trailed 3-2.
These are the #nevereverquit Rangers, however, so they were able to get to the San Diego bullpen for a run off former Ranger Joaquin Benoit in the 8th to tie the game and scored the winning run in the 10th inning on a Mitch Moreland double off of Bud Norris to plate Elvis Andrus.
Sam Dyson allowed Shawn Tolleson the night off as he picked up a two-inning save win and continued to be a great addition.
Texas has won its 70th game of the season and is only behind the Astros -- who lost tonight against the Mariners -- by a game in the loss column.
Player of the Game: Chris Gimenez hit another home run. Here's a thing I noticed:
@lonestarball Trout in August: .689 OPS, Gimenez in August: .991 OPS

Obviously Gimenez is better than the reigning American League MVP.
