Texas Rangers activate Robinson Chirinos, recall Nick Martinez

The Texas Rangers have activated catcher Robinson Chirinos from the disabled list today, and have recalled pitcher Nick Martinez from AAA Round Rock.

Chirinos has been out since late July due to a strained shoulder, while Martinez was optioned ten days ago, and thus had to wait until today to be recalled.

With rosters having expanded, no corresponding active roster move is necessary, and both players were already on the 40 man roster.

My assumption is that Chirinos will resume starting catcher duties, if the team feels he is fully recovered from the shoulder issue.  Martinez will be used out of the bullpen.
