CFB WK1 Review/WK2 Preview/GDT

That two year reclamation project is off to a roaring start....

I hope your holiday weekend was as good as the fightin' Irish was. Week 0 or 1 or whatever of the CFB season is a wrap with the defending national champions picking up where they left off in 2014 last night. Not much to see here, other than Cardale Jones looks to be the starter for tOSU and Braxton Miller is transitioning well in to a WR.

In other action, the 2nd year of the Charlie Strong regime traveled to South Bend with hopes of putting the Longhorns back on the map. Those hopes were quickly dashed with the Golden Domers complete and utter dismantling of not only the UT offense, but the D, which by a number of writers/fans/etc, was considered to be much improved. What do this all mean? Is Notre Dame that good? Is Texas that bad? Only time will tell.

Alabama did Alabama things to inferior competition at Jerry World. A&M won another 1st game of the season against "top 15" competition that would most assuredly receive a knee jerk ranking/love fest from many. Penn State lost to Temple. Northwestern knocked off Stanford. And a Mormon based university hail mary'ed it's way to victory in the red sea of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Games of the week

#7 Oregon @ #5 Michigan State - Does Vernon Adams have it in him to handle what supposedly is a good D in East Lansing?

#19 Oklahoma @ #23 Tennessee - The epic "Big XII vs SEC" battle rages on....

#14 LSU @ #25 Mississippi State - First SECW divisional game of the year. LSU missed out due to mother nature last week. Is there still rust on the claws?

#20 Boise State @ BYU - Pray for two hail mary's in a row, cougar fans....

Oregon State @ Michigan - Two losses in a row for Harbaugh could have wolverine fans burning their khakis early.
