73-64 - Rangers dust off big bats, slug four dingers to beat M's

The Texas Rangers are just a game back of Houston in the AL West after scoring the most runs in a game since Aug 15

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers are a season high nine games above .500. The Minnesota Twins were defeated and are now 2.5 games behind the Rangers for the second wild card spot in the American League. The Anaheim Angels were defeated by the Los Angeles Dodgers and are now 4.5 games behind the Rangers for the second wild card spot in the American League.

The Houston Astros were defeated by the Oakland A's (for the fifth straight time, mind you) and now have as many losses as the Rangers as Texas moved to within a game of first place in the American League West for the first time since April 18.

Player of the Game: Rougned Odor, Shin-Soo Choo, and Mitch Moreland all blasted dongs, but so did Joey Gallo and Joey Gallo was hitting lasers all over the field tonight.
