Gil Kim is leaving the Texas Rangers, where he was the team's director of international scouting, to join the Toronto Blue Jays as Toronto's director of player development. Ben Badler describes it on Twitter as Kim becoming Toronto's farm director.
Kim was promoted by Texas to his old position in January, 2014, and has been involved with the Rangers international scouting efforts since joining the team almost a decade ago, and this move would appear to be a promotion. You never want to lose someone from your organization to a rival, but obviously, it is a credit to the Rangers and their international scouting efforts that Kim has been sought out by the Jays.
