Texas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara tied for fifth in the American League Rookie of the Year balloting, per the results released today.  Pitcher Michael Fulmer of the Detroit Tigers was named the winner.

Mazara was an early favorite for the award after winning Rookie of the Month honors in April and May, but he tailed off the rest of the way, struggling in particular in the second half.  Mazara tied with Edwin Diaz of the M's in the voting.

Second place went to Gary Sanchez of the Yankees, while Tyler Naquin finished third and Chris Devenski fourth.

In the National League, Corey Seager was the unanimous winner, with Trea Turner finishing second and Kenta Maeda third.
