The Texas Rangers made a bunch of promotions and other moves relating to their front office and coaching staff today, per the guys who cover the team for a living, who are tweeting the details of the moves.

The most prominent promotions involve Jayce Tingler, Mike Daly and Josh Boyd. Boyd will be assistant g.m. for professional scouting, research & development, and Pacific Rim operations. Daly will be assistant g.m. for major league operations and international scouting. Tingler will be assistant g.m. for player development.

Tingler spent the 2016 season on the major league coaching staff, where he was Field Coordinator and also coached baserunning and outfield defense. He is being replaced on the coaching staff by Josh Bonifay, son of former Pittsburgh g.m. Cam Bonifay, who had been in the Houston organization.

With the loss of Thad Levine to Minnesota, there was re-shuffling expected, and Daly, Boyd and Tingler have been seen as fast-risers in the organization.
