Brady Dragmire’s time with Texas was brief.
The Texas Rangers claimed righthanded pitcher Brady Dragmire on waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates on December 2, and then designated him for assignment ten days later when the Carlos Gomez signing was made official. Today, it has been announced that Dragmire did not clear waivers, but was claimed by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pirates will, no doubt, try to run Dragmire through waivers again at some point in the next few weeks, in an effort to outright him to the minors, keeping him in their system while getting him off the 40 man roster. They had acquired Dragmire from the Toronto Blue Jays in October for cash considerations.
