Aroldis Chapman suspended 30 games by MLB

MLB has suspended Aroldis Chapman 30 games for violating MLB's domestic violence policy

Butch Dill-USA TODAY Sports

Aroldis Chapman has been suspended 30 games by MLB for violating the league's domestic violence policy, according to an announcement by the league.

Chapman apparently agreed to the 30 game suspension and will not appeal.  By virtue of the suspension being 30 games, Chapman will still be eligible for free agency, and I suspect that played a part in Chapman's willingness to agree to a suspension of that length.  Interestingly, it put the Yankees in being in a position of being better off with a longer suspension, since that potentially would have given them another year of team control.
