Jeremy Guthrie not optimistic about making team

T.R. Sullivan tweets that Jeremy Guthrie is not optimistic about making the Rangers roster

Jeremy Guthrie is supposed to find out tomorrow if he will be making the Texas Rangers' Opening Day roster, but T.R. Sullivan tweets that Guthrie "doesn't appear optimistic" about his chances.  Jeff Wilson tweeted that Guthrie felt pitching in the minors game yesterday, rather than the A game, was a sign is chances are slim.

A.J. Griffin starts Tuesday, and at this point, he appears to be the favorite to be the fifth starter.  Since he is on a minor league deal, Texas could opt to wait until the fifth game of the season to add him to the active roster, allowing them to keep an eighth member of the bullpen for the first few games.

Nick Martinz is also in the mix, although it seems like his chances would be improved if Texas opts to use the fifth starter spot as a swing man role, rather than a true fifth starter.  Martinez would be a better fit in that sort of role than Griffin.

Phil Klein is also theoretical still in the mix, though his chances of making the rotation seem very slim.
