Texas Rangers rumors: Adrian Beltre extension: 2 years, $36 million

The Texas Rangers and Adrian Beltre have reportedly agreed to a 2 year, $36 million extension

Texas Rangers rumors:  Adrian Beltre contract extension stuff has been quiet of late, but the Rangers and Beltre have both indicated that they want Beltre to finish his career as a Ranger, and the teams left the door open for extension talks once the season started.

Well, according to T.R. Sullivan, "strong indications are" that the Rangers and Beltre are close to a deal being done.  Beltre has supposedly been looking for three years, at more than the $19M that Pablo Sandoval got as a free agent, while the Rangers haven't wanted to go that far.

Beltre, who just turned 37, is almost certainly going to go into the Hall of Fame, with the only question being if it is first ballot, or if he has to wait a few years.  He's off to a terrific start, is one of the best third basemen in history, and is generally considered to be the leader of the Ranger team.  Beltre being locked up would be a very good thing.
