Yu Darvish rehab schedule: Texas Rangers pitcher slated to pitch for Frisco soon

Yu Darvish had another successful bullpen session today, and appears slated to start a rehab assignment in the next 7-10 days

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Yu Darvish's rehab schedule is becoming clearer, with the Texas Rangers starting pitcher likely starting a rehab stint with the Frisco Roughriders around April 26, according to the beats on Twitter.

Darvish, who is working his way back from Tommy John surgery, had a successful bullpen session today, and Evan Grant says Darvish should begin his minor league rehab with a start for Frisco on April 26.  An aggressive return to the majors could have Darvish back on the mound for Texas by May 11 (with three rehab starts) or May 16 (with four rehab starts) according to Grant, while using the full 30 days allowed would have Darvish back in Texas at the end of the month.

My guess is that Darvish is back sometime around May 21, after five rehab starts, with A.J. Griffin most likely being the pitcher currently in the rotation to be displaced.  All this assumes no setbacks, of course, though everything has gone very well on Darvish's rehab so far.
