Texas Rangers reliever Keone Kela will undergo surgery tomorrow to remove a bone spur from his right elbow, which is expected to sideline him for the next three months.
That sort of takes the buzz off of a Ranger win tonight, although it was announced earlier today that Kela was going on the disabled list. Every indication is that the issue does not involve the ligament in his elbow, which is good news...ligament damage is what leads to Tommy John surgery.
The Rangers will apparently look at Tony Barnette to fill Kela's role at this point, though this could end up opening the door for Luke Jackson or Matt Bush to get a look in the near future.
