Holland to start Monday, Griffin's MRI clean

A couple of items on the starting rotation from the beat guys on Twitter in regards to the starting rotation.

First of all, Derek Holland's next start will apparently be Monday at Oakland, rather than Sunday at home against the Blue Jays.  If the Rangers skipped their fifth starter, Holland would go Sunday, but either because they want to give guys an extra day of rest, or because they want to have Holland avoid Toronto, or both, Holland will start in Oakland, which should be a more favorable setting for him.

Meanwhile, A.J. Griffin's MRI on his shoulder came back clean, and he can start throwing again when his shoulder feels okay.  Griffin will likely do at least one rehab start in AAA, but if he's healthy and ready to return around the same time Yu Darvish will be back, it will re-open the question of who gets bumped from the rotation which we were having before Griffin landed on the d.l.

Given the shoulder issue and the state of the rotation, the Rangers may choose to be cautious with Griffin and have him do a couple of short rehab outings in the minors before coming back, which would also give them more time to make a decision on how to proceed with the rotation.
