The Texas Rangers have optioned lefthanded reliever Andrew Faulkner to AAA Round Rock, according to John Blake on Twitter. The Rangers haven't announced a corresponding move yet, but I think it is reasonable to expect that Shin-Soo Choo will be activated from the disabled list tomorrow.
Faulkner had started the season on the 25 man roster, was sent down after five appearances (the last of which was a 2 home run game against Baltimore on April 15), and then was recalled about a week ago. Faulkner has made three appearances since his recall, the last of which being a one batter outing against Oakland in that awful 8th inning yesterday.
If you're wondering why Faulkner was sent down now, rather than tomorrow, it starts the 10 day clock for his recall now, and it goes ahead and gets him on the Round Rock roster so he is available immediately.
And hopefully, Choo will be in the outfield on Friday...
