The Texas Rangers have activated outfielder Shin-Soo Choo from the disabled list today. As pitcher Andrew Faulkner had been optioned yesterday, this restores the Rangers active roster to 25 players.
Choo was placed on the d.l. a week into the season after straining a calf muscle while warming up prior to the game. His injury led to Nomar Mazara being promoted, and Mazara has taken advantage of the opportunity, establishing himself as a starting corner outfielder on the team. With Choo's return, the Rangers will likely have Mazara in left field, Ian Desmond in center field, and Choo in right field, with Ryan Rua playing against left handed starters in one of the corner outfield spots or at first base.
