15-12 - Rangers play with fire, get Smoak'd

The Rangers spent the entire game hanging on to a 1-0 until the 9th, then lose in extras

Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Two pitches into the game and the Texas Rangers led the Toronto Blue Jays 1-0. Rougned Odor hit a leadoff home run off Marco Estrada to give Martin Perez an early lead. From that point on, the Rangers somehow escaped losing that 1-0 lead on virtually every pitch for the rest of the night...until the 9th...when Justin Smoak homered off Shawn Tolleson.

Then the Rangers and Blue Jays gifted us with a free innings for this game before Justin Smoak homered again for the walk-off. The Rangers have now beared witness to a walk-off celebration in every road series this season.

Sure seemed like the Rangers had this one coming but I don't think we personally did anything to deserve it.

Player of the Game: I mean, I guess it's gotta be Odor, right? He hit a home run and that's basically the only good thing that happened.

Up Next: More baseball from the great white north as Colby Lewis gets his shot at the Blue Jays with the Rangers getting their first look at RHP Aaron Sanchez as a starter. First pitch is once again scheduled for 6:07 pm CT.
