The Texas Rangers made a roster move today, optioning pitcher Phil Klein to ÀÀA Round Rock, and recalling pitcher Anthony Ranaudo. Ranaudo has been working as a starter, and he's presumably up to give the Rangers a legitimate long man while Cesar Ramos recovers from yesterday's four-plus inning outing. My assumption is that the Rangers will option Ranaudo on Sunday or Monday and bring up a short reliever, likely Luke Jackson or Andrew Faulkner.
Klein, a big righty who relies upon deception rather than a big fastball, has shown some promise, but has also been somewhat homer-prone in the majors. I'm reasonably sure we will see him back up with the Rangers at some point this year.
