38-24 - Rangers win thanks to savior Prince Fielder?!

Prince Fielder saves Texas with two-out home run as Rangers win in 11

Prince Fielder had his biggest hit of the season at last as he tied the game in the 9th inning with two out on a solo blast halfway up the right field bleachers. It was probably a very cathartic moment for Prince as he contributed to an offense that had stalled for 26 outs.

Perhaps even more surprising was the fact that the Rangers actually won the game. The American League's best team came into tonight with a record of 1-5 in extra inning games. Thanks to a Rougned Odor dinger in the top of the 11th, you can make that 2-5 and the best overall record in the AL.

For Seattle, after keeping the Rangers off the board for 8 2/3 innings, looking at gaining a game in the standings, and with a pretty good start from James Paxton, this one has to sting. Eyeing climbing to just two games back in the AL West standings, and going for a sweep tomorrow, to down four in the standings and needing a win tomorrow to avoid dropping to five back, the Mariners were just a Prince Fielder at-bat away.

For the first time in a while, Prince Fielder didn't follow the 2016 script.

Player of the Game: Fielder went 3 for 5 with his game-saving dinger and broke the hearts of everyone in Seattle. Colby Lewis also gets a nod for pitching eight innings of one-run ball because he's awesome.

Up Next: The Rangers and Mariners conclude this series from Safeco with Cole Hamels on the mound for Texas against LHP Wade Miley of Seattle. First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 pm CT.
