44-25 - Rangers win game #69 and that's pretty nice

Rangers somehow win this baseball game and we might be living in a dream

Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

I don't even know what sports are anymore. I wrote 664 words that I erased because it was about the Rangers losing this game. The Cardinals were 33-0 in games they led in the 8th but they hadn't faced the Rangers in such a situation.

The Rangers had no business winning today. St. Louis starter Carlos Martinez was so good today. Down 3-0 with two-out in the 8th against The Final Boss Seung Hwan Oh (he of the 1.56 ERA) and the Rangers win 4-3. The Rangers have won five straight, are 7-2 on this road trip, and are 19 games above .500.

Texas has a seven and a half game lead over Seattle in the AL West and have won a franchise record nine straight series.

Gosh, this team.

Player of the Game: Cesar Ramos came in and pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. That's pretty useful. Or, I don't know, the entire team. Baseball doesn't make sense.

Up Next: The finale in this series sees Martin Perez take the mound for Texas against RHP Mike Leake with a chance to sweep the Cardinals. First pitch from St. Louis is scheduled for 1:15 pm CT.
