46-26 - Rangers finally lose a baseball game

All good things must come to an end as the Rangers' seven game winning streak is stopped by Cincinnati

Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

I suppose the Rangers were due for a clunker. Of course, you don't want to see it happen against one of the worst teams in baseball but the Rangers were battered around by the Reds anyway.

Among the bummers of the night was the fact that Colby Lewis left with cramping in his arm. Colby is the definition of a rotation workhorse but racking up all those innings on the road trip might have come back to bite Colby tonight. Hopefully this start doesn't end Colby's bid for a spot on the All-Star team.

Since this is a two-game series, the streak of series wins ends at ten for the Rangers. They can at least salvage a split with Cincinnati tomorrow night.

Player of the Game: Jurickson Profar hit a long two-run home run in the to make the game 3-2 and for a split second there it looked like the Rangers were on their way to another comeback win. Alas...

Up Next: The Rangers close out this two-game set with the Reds with Cole Hamels on the mound against RHP Dan Straily. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
