The local beat writers have indicated that the Rangers received Eric Surkamp who was placed on waivers by the Oakland A's. He has been optioned to Round Rock and Drew Stubbs was moved to the 60 day DL to make room for him on the 40 man roster.
Surkamp is allegedly left handed.
