Friday morning Rangers news and links

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

Because apparently no one has been talking about him lately, Mac Engel has a story where Prince Fielder and Shin-Soo Choo are referred to as "thieves" in the headline, and says that the Rangers should avoid acquiring players who are represented by Scott Boras, which leads me to believe he's unhappy the Rangers ever got Adrian Beltre, and wants Texas to trade Jurickson Profar ASAP.

Gil Lebreton takes a more charitable view of the Prince Fielder injury, writing that it gives some young Ranger players an opportunity.  Tim Cowlishaw says the injury makes it less likely Joey Gallo or Jurickson Profar gets dealt.

Gerry Fraley says the Rangers missed red flags on Prince, with Fraley saying, among other things, the fact that Dave Dombrowski wanted to trade him should have been a red flag. while Ian Kinsler has been one of the best second basemen in baseball since the deal.

Mitch Moreland hopes that he will be able to step up and contribute with Prince out.

Stefan Stevenson looks at some possible trade targets for the Rangers, as well as who the Rangers might give up.

Ryan Posner writes that the Rangers are looking at bullpen arms in advance of the trade deadline.

Evan Grant ranks the most likely trade partners for the Rangers.

Jeff Banister sees intensity in the Ranger clubhouse, but not panic, as the Rangers fight through this bad stretch.

Tony Beasley is working with Rougned Odor.
