The Texas Rangers have activated Jake Diekman from the disabled list. To clear a spot on the 25 man roster, the Rangers have designated Cesar Ramos for assignment.
The activation of Diekman, who was placed on the d.l. after the Break because he cut his finger on a broken souvenir mug, was expected, though I think it was anticipated that Alex Claudio would be the pitcher to get sent down. Ramos being DFA'd leaves the Rangers with no long man for the time being. In addition, it drops the 40 man roster to 39.
