  • Okay, Rangers, you've had your fun, you've gotten us paying attention and not taking the division for granted...NOW can you start winning games again?
  • Yu Darvish went six innings today, gave up three runs, looked outstanding at times and off at other words, like you'd expect from a great pitcher working his way back from injury.  11 K's against just one walk, thou there were 7 hits allows.  But Yu pitched well enough.  Keone Kela and Jake Diekman each pitched a scoreless inning.  The bats just didn't come through.
  • I don't seemed to be that the Rangers were showing more signs of life at the plate tonight, that there were more hard hit balls.  Nomar Mazara had two hits, which is promising, given the slump he had been in.  If Ian Desmond does something with the bases loaded and two out in the third, or if Mitch Moreland's line drive to right with two on and two out in the seventh falls in, things are different, and maybe we are pointing at this game as a turnaround.
  • But yeah...I don't know.  Maybe I'm imagining things.  This team is not as bad as they've looked the last month, but that doesn't change the fact that the lead in the West has gone from 10 games to 2.5 games with the Astros coming hard.  Maybe I'm seeing what I want to see, as far as signs of life, and things are really as bleak as the doomsayers have been suggesting.
  • I don't know.  We will have to see what comes.  In any case, Texas is still in first place, and Cole Hamels pitches tomorrow, and those are both very good things.
