58-44 - Coco Crisp, Khris Davis crap on Rangers in finale loss

Rangers waste solid Yu Darvish outing, lose series to Oakland

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Yu Darvish went six innings and allowed two runs and the Rangers collected 11 hits off Sean Manaea. So, that was a nice win you're surely saying to yourself looking at those two facts. Instead, the Rangers lost 6-3 as the offense didn't do much with those hits when given the chance and Matt Bush allowed two, two-run home runs in the 8th inning to turn a 3-2 lead into a 6-4 loss.

Darvish's weird history against the A's continues though to no real fault of his own. Darvish is 1-8 in now 11 career starts against Oakland. Coco Crisp led off the game with a triple and scored and before the first inning was over, Ranger Killer supreme Khris Davis had hit a solo home run off Darvish to make it 2-0. Darvish wouldn't allow another run as Texas battled back to take the lead by the 5th inning.

You'll never guess the players who hit the home runs for Oakland in the 8th. That's right, Coco Crisp and Khris Davis. Coco has long been a thorn in the Rangers' side but Davis is new to the American League this season and he's apparently made it his mission to destroy the Rangers every time he faces them.

On the year, Davis has hit 7 home runs and collected 19 RBI in nine games against the Rangers this season.

Player of the Game: Ian Desmond went 2-for-4 with a double and, at the time, the go-ahead two-run home run in the 5th inning. Desmond scored two of the Rangers' three runs and his dinger was the 20th of the season for him.

Up Next: The Rangers open up a four-game series against the Kansas City Royals with Cole Hamels on the mound against RHP Yordano Ventura. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
