On a night where the Rangers inducted Michael Young into the team's Hall of Fame, Texas provided some additional drama by waiting until the bottom of the 9th inning to win. Mitch Moreland once against hit the game-winning blast as Texas beat KC for the third straight game to take this series.

A walk-off home run celebration is a fitting way to end a night where the Rangers honored one of their all-time best.

The Rangers have won 4 of their 7 games on this homestand and can sweep the Royals with a win tomorrow. In Detroit, the Tigers beat the Astros 3-2 to help the Rangers improve their lead in the AL West to five games. The five game lead is the largest for Texas since they led by 5 1/2 games at the All-Star break.

Player of the Game: Someone found Martin Perez's changeup wandering the streets lost and afraid and promptly returned it to 1000 Ballpark Way as Perez had his best start in weeks. Perez went seven innings and allowed just one run on four hits as he struck out five Royals.

Up Next: The Rangers close out this series with the Royals with Lucas Harrell making his debut against RHP Dillon Gee of KC. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 pm CT.
