Good morning, folks. I fell asleep last night before the game was over. Was happy to wake up and see the Rangers won, although I see there was a little more drama than we would have preferred before it ended.
Levi Weaver’s game story talks about the Rangers putting a scare into everyone before wrapping up the win at close to 1 a.m.
The S-T’s game story is pro-Jonathan Lucroy.
The Rangers’ website game story talks about home runs supporting Yu Darvish.
Stefan Stevenson has a piece on the Rangers’ bullpen, saying the Rangers are sticking with a “short bullpen” right now, although a seven man bullpen is the size most bullpens are — an eight man bullpen would be the exception, and leave you with a short bench.
Ian Kinsler talked about Prince Fielder’s situation and being traded to Detroit, though apparently not until Gerry Fraley, with whom he has had a contentious relationship in the past, vacated the Tigers’ locker room.
Fraley writes that the Ranger bullpen has been ridden hard of late, and the Rangers want to lighten the load on them this weekend.
The Rangers have a virtual reality exhibit where you can walk to the plate as Elvis Andrus and see what it is like to be in that situation.
Levi has his Baseball Texas Daily from yesterday.
The S-T’s notes talk about Lucroy, virtual reality, Shawn Tolleson, James Jones and Kyle Kubitza.
T.R. Sullivan’s notes talk about the lack of a long man, Tolleson, Kubitza, and Jake Diekman’s mechanical issues.
