The Baltimore Orioles have claimed outfielder Drew Stubbs on waivers from the Texas Rangers, it has been announced today. Stubbs was designated for assignment last week by the Rangers when the team purchased the contract of Carlos Gomez.
Stubbs appeared in 19 games for the Rangers, putting up a .300/.400/.600 slash line in 25 plate appearances. He missed two and a half months with a toe injury that resulted in him going on the 60 day d.l., and had a memorable two out walk off home run off of Gavin Floyd in the 10th inning of a game against the Toronto Blue Jays on May 14.
The Orioles, meanwhile, continue their habit of scooping up former Rangers at every opportunity.
