The numbers for the pitchers in high-A High Desert this year

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Its kind of hard to get a read on the pitchers at high-A for the Rangers right now, because High Desert is such a screwy affiliate, and the Cal League in general is so hitter-friendly.  The Rangers appeared to work to minimize the amount of time the most highly-regarded pitchers in the system spent there.

Still, looking at High Desert, you see good work from Yohander Mendez and Ariel Jurado, as well as Luis Ortiz, since gone to Milwaukee.  Brett Martin had a few appearances there, and then there are guys like Collin Wiles and Cole Wiper who are looking to separate themselves from the "organizational depth" category.
