Holland starts Wednesday, Darvish moved to Saturday

The Rangers are having Derek Holland start in place of Yu Darvish for Wednesday's game against Houston

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

The Texas Rangers will be using Derek Holland as their starting pitcher for tomorrow's game against the Houston Astros, according to the beat guys on Twitter.  Yu Darvish had originally been slated to start Wednesday's game, but with the Rangers having taken the first two games of the series, the team has apparently decided that the lead is big enough, and Houston is buried enough, that they can push Darvish back.

Sliding him to Saturday puts Darvish behind Cole Hamels, and sets the rotation up -- or the first two spots, anyway -- for the playoffs, where it appears Cole Hamels would go in Game 1 and Darvish in Game 2.  Holland, meanwhile, gets a chance to continue his audition for a spot in the playoff rotation, though he appears to have fallen behind the other contenders.
