92-64 — Rangers regulars can’t match bench guys performance

The Rangers starters returned to the lineup today but couldn’t finish the sweep

MLB: Texas Rangers at Oakland Athletics Neville E. Guard-USA TODAY Sports

Texas couldn’t sweep, falling in their final road game of the regular season, 7-1.

On the plus side, for the series, no one except Colby Lewis allowed any runs. On the down side, Colby really struggled today, and he’s only got one more start left before the playoffs. Texas could use good Colby back.

At least Adrian Beltre homered to prevent a shutout.

Player of the Game — Let’s give it to the relievers who pitched today. Nick Martinez, Derek Holland, Andrew Faulkner, Jose Leclerc and Dario Alvarez combined for 6.1 IP of shutout ball, keeping the game from being any uglier.
