Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager is not on the Dodgers’ NLCS roster, which was just released. Seager, who has been dealing with a sore back, missed workouts yesterday due to the issue, but there had been little indication that it could keep him off the NLCS roster altogether.

The loss of the two-time All Star and 2016 Rookie of the Year is a significant blow for the Dodgers, as he is arguably the team’s best position player. Seager put up a .295/.375/.479 slash line on the season. Charlie Culberson and Joc Pederson have been added to the NLCS roster, with Pedro Baez being the other player, along with Seager, who was on the NLDS roster but not the NLCS roster.

The Dodgers square off tonight against the Cubs in the first game of the seven game series, with the winner advancing to the World Series to play the winner of Astros/Yankees.
