Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus has been named one of the three finalists for the Gold Glove Award for American League shortstops, along with Andrelton Simmons and Francisco Lindor.

This is a nice honor for Elvis, although he would seem to be unlikely to be the ultimate winner, given that Simmons is one of the most accomplished defenders at shortstop in major league history. The winners will be announced on November 7.

While Adrian Beltre won for third base last year, he was not among the three finalists at the position this year. Evan Longoria, Manny Machado and Jose a Ramirez were the finalists at that position.

Among former Rangers, Mitch Moreland is a finalist for first base in the A.L., Ian Kinsler is a finalist for second base in the A.L., and R.A. Dickey is a finalist for the A.L. pitcher award.
