The Gold Glove Award Winners were announced tonight, and the Texas Rangers’ lone finalist, Elvis Andrus, was not the winner of the A.L. Gold Glove award for shortstop. Andrelton Simmons of the Angels, generally considered the best defensive shortstop in the game right now, won instead.

Former Ranger Ian Kinsler was a finalist at second base, but was beaten out by Brian Dozier, despite Dozier not grading out well in the publicly-available advanced metrics. At first base, meanwhile, former Ranger Mitch Moreland lost to the RoyalsEric Hosmer.
