Evan Grant has four tasks he thinks the Rangers should try to accomplish next week at the Winter Meetings.

The Texas Rangers signed shortstop Yenci Pena, a 17 year old shortstop declared a free agent out of the Braves’ system due to their international shenanigans, to a $650,000 bonus yesterday.

Jake Diekman was named the recipient of this year’s Hutch Award, given by the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center to an MLB player each year who best exemplifies the “fighting spirit and competitive desire” of Hutchinson.

The Hamels Foundation held a couple of clinics in the D/FW area on Saturday and talked about his offseason conditioning work.
